Our Advisors

The leadership team at Toler Financial Group combines diverse expertise to deliver innovative financial planning services. Together, they bring a unique blend of skills to meet clients’ financial needs.

 

  • My first career was as a midwife, and I might be the only former midwife who is now a financial advisor! I loved working in my own business attending home births, growing deep relationships with my clients, and being part of a movement of reproductive health and birth autonomy. During those years I also was at the Washington Free Clinic providing maternal health care to low-resourced families, and I was part of an amazing team of passionate and talented friends.

    I have been a financial advisor since 2001, and I have sought to build a firm that incorporates lessons from my earlier life—mission-driven, deeply committed to clients, and seeking to change the conversation about money. I have increasingly led my growing firm into a more independent status, providing our clients with the most balanced advice possible. It has been a real joy to build a diverse talent pool of financial advisors, and to create a growing community of interesting clients.

    I grew up and raised my family just outside DC in Prince Georges county. I enjoy many outdoor activities, and founded a small grassroots environmental group, Friends of Dueling Creek. I am an avid naturalist and birder, with a lifelong interest in the life sciences, and most days off find me out exploring the natural world. I am a Board Member of Maryland Ornithological Society, serving as Investment Committee Chair.

  • As a Financial Advisor with Toler Financial Group, I love helping clients design the financial plans to make their dreams come true. I am also passionate about coaching people through change and life transitions. 

    One area of interest for me is Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE). I enjoy working with clients to create more freedom in their life, design work optional lifestyles, and yes, even retire early. 

     I work primarily with clients who are established in their careers, are approaching retirement, or are in retirement. 

     I am particularly interested in the intersection of finance and psychology and believe that clients’ awareness of their mindsets around money are a key piece to making progress with their financial plan. In addition to my financial planning and investment management role with TFG, I run a Life, Executive and Business Coaching practice: Reexamine Wealth. 

     Before making a full career shift to financial planning and coaching, I owned the accounting firm Balanced Financial Solutions (BFS) where my practice areas included individual Tax Planning and Preparation, Small Business Accounting, Tax and Advisory Services, and Financial Planning. I built BFS from a solo-practice into a firm with a team of 4 employees and multiple subcontractors. This role cemented my passion for financial planning and helping clients connect the various areas of their finances. I exited BFS through a successful acquisition. 

     Prior to BFS, I worked for a Big Four Multinational accounting firm, followed by smaller accounting firms. Other areas of my accounting experience include financial statement audit, financial reporting, and government accounting advisory services. Altogether, I spent over 13 years working as an accountant and advisor prior to my career shift into Financial Advisory.

    • I live in Mid-Coast Maine, and am a native Washingtonian. I’m a yogi and a runner. I also enjoy travel, foreign language and cultures, and being in nature. 

    • I am a member of the Lights Out Gallery, (a community arts organization) Board of Directors in Norway Maine and serve as the Board Treasurer 

    • I am the Treasurer of the Nor’easter’s Barbershop Chorus in Brunswick, ME

    • I also volunteer with the Phippsburg Land Trust where I live in Phippsburg, ME.

  • As a teenager I worked summers for a financial newsletter and read the Wall Street Journal. But in college, I didn't see myself reflected in the world of finance and I went in a radically different direction—into sex ed.

    But it turns out sex and money aren't that different—both things are extremely important in our culture and yet taboo to talk about. Shame, embarrassment, and secrecy can make it difficult to be honest about them and to make good decisions regarding our sex lives and finances. With nearly 20 years of experience as a sex educator, coach and trainer working with folks of all ages, I bring the same commitment to transparency, fun, and evidence-based learning and behavior change strategies as a financial advisor. 

    If you've ever worked with me, you know that I get right to the point and will keep you excited and focused on your most important goals. As a master trainer and program designer, I know how to help people make change in the areas of their life that can be the most challenging and shame-prone. I specialize in working with women and non binary folks, private practice owners, and progressive leaders.

  • I grew up just outside of Washington, D.C., and earned my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Technology from the University of Maryland. During my college years, I worked part time at Toler Financial Group, which sparked an enduring interest in personal finance.

    After graduating, I moved to Seattle, where I spent five years immersed in the Pacific Northwest’s natural beauty. I worked for an environmental land trust dedicated to conserving farmland across Washington State. In this role, I collaborated closely with farmers, managed a small grant program, and engaged the local community through events celebrating the importance of farmland and the farmers who provide healthy, local food.

    In 2024, I returned to the DMV area to pursue my passion for personal finance and wealth management, excited to help people achieve their goals as part of Toler Financial Group.

    In my free time, I love adventuring with my dog Willow, traveling to all parts of the world, and exploring my newest passion—surfing. I am currently a Board Member of Rainbow Families, which offers education and support for LGBTQ+ families.

  • I have nearly a decade of investment advisory, trading, and financial planning experience. I graduated cum laude from Drexel University with a double major in finance and legal studies. I hold CAIA and CFA charters and am an active member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia. I provide straightforward solutions to complex challenges, optimizing Toler Financial Group’s operations while simplifying our clients’ lives.

    In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, catching a baseball game, and exploring the food, music, and art of Philadelphia where I reside with my partner and two cats.

  • While I may be new to the financial planning world, I’m not new to building relationships, earning trust, or guiding people through big decisions. For over 20 years, I worked in hospitality and fine dining—mostly in Washington, D.C., but also in Atlanta and Philadelphia. The last 10 of those behind the bar at a high end restaurant next to the White House. Because of its location and popularity, I have been fortunate enough to get a proper education on service and humanity as a whole. I have met every kind of person imaginable, which has given me the skills to empathize and collaborate with anyone. 

    In that role, I learned that great service isn’t just about polish—it’s about presence, empathy, and being able to meet people exactly where they are. I’ve listened, problem-solved, and offered an calm and capable  presence for people in moments both ordinary and pivotal. Those same skills—listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and treating every person with dignity—are what I now bring to the financial planning space.

    Money can be overwhelming and scary, especially in uncertain times. My goal is to help make those conversations feel a little more human. I’m proud to bring my experience, curiosity, and commitment to service to the team at Toler Financial Group, and excited to grow in a field that, at its core, is really about people.

  • For most of my professional life, I have worked with local organizations focused on community health. Over the years, I have had an opportunity to develop and implement programs, manage large federal grants, train and mentor people from all walks of life, and lead a non-profit agency. Through these roles I have gained experience in non-profit management and leadership in service of a just mission.

    When I was young, my family relocated to this area from Central America. I graduated from Georgetown University with a BA in History, and worked with a number of small community-based clinics, including The Washington Free Clinic, where I met and worked with Fran. I fell in love with the field of public health, and in 1998 I obtained a Master in Public Health from John Hopkins University. For 25 years I worked at La Clínica del Pueblo, a community-based clinic serving primarily immigrant Latinos. There I served in various leadership roles and had opportunity to collaborate and work alongside many health centers and community organizations.

    I live in Mount Rainier, Maryland with my family. I enjoy reading, music, food, movies, and being in nature and in community.

  • I joined the TFG team with several years of experience in different management roles. I am responsible for ensuring our office runs smoothly and efficiently, and I oversee our administrative operations while supporting our financial advisors and staff in various areas. I pride myself on my attention to detail and interpersonal skills which allow me to effectively problem solve for the staff and clients alike.

    I attended Frostburg State University and have a B.S. in Political Science and Criminal Justice with a minor in Information Systems. I also carry an active CISM certification. 

    In my spare time, I love to travel, cook, and I have a growing interest in photography. I am also obsessed with historical documentaries. I love watching sports (I’m a die-hard Cowboys fan) and I am excited about learning to play tennis. 

    My passion for helping others and serving those in my community are just some of the reasons I am excited about my future with TFG and the active role I get to play in helping people reach their financial goals.

  • Growing up in Oregon as a first-generation daughter of immigrants, I became curious about finance and wealth management precisely because it wasn’t something I saw or understood much of in my community. The more I noticed the gaps in financial knowledge around me, the more interested I became in how wealth is built, managed, and used to create opportunity. That early curiosity stayed with me, even as I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Oregon State University.

    After graduating, I began my career in consulting, where I gained a deep appreciation for analysis, problem-solving, and the impact of clear strategy. The fast-paced environment strengthened my attention to detail and solidified my passion for data, money, and the stories numbers can tell.

    I support our advisors and clients by analyzing data, ensuring smooth operational processes, and helping people stay fully informed and engaged in their financial journeys. I am currently pursuing my CFA charter, motivated by a commitment to technical excellence and the desire to help clients grow and protect their wealth.

    Building meaningful relationships and diving deep into complex financial questions are some of the aspects of this work that energize me most.

    Now based in Alexandria, Virginia, I love to stay active outside of work, enjoy playing delightfully bad rounds of golf, and going to trivia nights with friends.

  • I joined TFG with several years of high-net-worth client services experience and a background in finance, operations and training.  I graduated cum laude from Salisbury University with a major in Business Management, a minor in Psychology and a concentration in Human Resources Management. I love supporting clients as they get solutions to their complex challenges and pre-emptively meet their needs. 

    Outside of work I enjoy reading, gaming, dancing, cooking for large groups, hosting with my partners’ and enjoy an active life. Roller skating, ice skating and nature walks that lead to picnics keep me moving. 

    I am deeply fascinated and love meeting all types of people. I spend my free time in often overlooked communities, which led me to joining TFG, where I get to bring my full self to the team and help people reach their financial dreams.

Ownership. We're building TFG to last beyond any one person. Rather than treating ownership as something to extract value from and move on, we believe that firm ownership can be a force for good when approached in the context of our broader commitments. Our plan is to broaden ownership over time to the team members who are building the firm's future, aligning our ownership and governance with our long-term commitment to our clients. We are explicitly opposed to extractive ownership models like private equity.

Community & Profession. TFG is a purpose-driven organization, and we believe we have a responsibility to the broader community. Part of our purpose is helping change the face of financial services by bringing new advisors into the profession — investing in the next generation to both reflect and serve the broader community. We also believe that our public presence  - through writing, presentations and more – can lift people up by sharing financial information with the broader community.
